Wire guides for wire drawing machines
Ceramic and carbide guides for precise wire guidance and high resistance to wear and tear.
Wire guides ensure that wire is guided precisely along the intended path within wire drawing machines and their peripheral equipment. They stabilize the wire’s path between individual process steps and prevent damage caused by uncontrolled movements or contact with machine components.
NABER & WISSMANN supplies wear-resistant wire guides made of ceramics and cemented carbide for use in wire drawing machines as well as in downstream equipment such as annealing lines, coating systems and winding machines.
Small parts for wire guidance and process peripherals
In addition to conventional wire guides, wire drawing machines and related equipment utilize numerous smaller components that are essential for reliable wire guidance and stable process conditions. These components perform important functions within the wire drawing line, such as guiding, stabilizing, or treating the wire.
The program includes, among other things:
- Ceramic bars
- Loosen the straps
- Blow-off nozzles
- Ring segments
- Additional guide elements and small parts for wire systems
Depending on the application, these components are manufactured from wear-resistant materials such as technical ceramics or other suitable materials. Precise geometries and high-quality surfaces ensure that even these smaller components reliably contribute to stable wire guidance and safe system operation.

Wire guides for stable wire routing in production
Within a wire line, the wire is guided between different process stations. Wire guides ensure precise positioning and prevent the wire from moving sideways.
Among other things, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Stabilizing the wire path inside the machine
- Guiding the wire between individual process stages
- Protecting the wire from damage caused by machine components
- Ensuring smooth and consistent wire feed
Precise and wear-resistant wire guides are essential for a stable production process, especially at high drawing speeds and with small wire diameters.
Materials for wear-resistant wire guides
We manufacture our wire guides from high-quality, wear-resistant materials to meet a variety of requirements in wire processing. Depending on the application, we use aluminum oxide ceramic (Al₂O₃) with a purity of at least 99.7%, zirconia ceramic (ZrO₂), silicon nitride, or cemented carbide. The selection of the appropriate material is critical for the service life of the wire guide, the friction during the process, and the quality of the wire surface.
Our polishing methods enable us to achieve surface finishes of less than 0.1 μm Ra. High-gloss polished guides allow our customers to improve the surface quality of the wire and reduce abrasion in machinery and equipment. In addition to our comprehensive standard product range, we also manufacture ceramic guides for your specific requirements.
Wire guides androds are availablerods
Many wire guides, eyelet guides, ceramic rods and ceramic tubes are available in stock as standard parts. This allows frequently used components to be delivered without additional production time. This ensures short lead times and a rapid supply to wire drawing systems.
